Cyber Fraud & Online Fraud
Structured legal help when you have been cheated online
Online fraud is now one of the most common legal problems in India — and one of the most under-reported, because victims are unsure whether anything can be done. The answer is usually yes, if the case is handled quickly and correctly. I help fraud victims document what happened, file proper complaints and pursue recovery and accountability.
What is this service?
A clear, practical explanation of what the work involves.
Cyber fraud covers the many ways people and businesses are cheated online — fake sellers and marketplaces, phishing, job and loan scams, investment and crypto fraud, matrimonial and romance scams, advance-fee fraud and impersonation. What links them is deception through a computer resource.
Legally, these cases are typically examined under Section 66D of the Information Technology Act, 2000 (cheating by personation using a computer resource) alongside Sections 318 and 319 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023. The practical work — complaints, FIRs, freezing of accounts, evidence — is where legal guidance makes the difference.

Getting the details right
Electronic evidence is governed by Section 63 of the Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam, 2023 — the provision that replaced Section 65B of the Indian Evidence Act. Preservation and documentation decide evidentiary value.
Preserve the fraudster's messages, profile links, ad links and payment references — these are the core electronic evidence.
Record transaction IDs, UTR numbers and bank statements for every payment.
Do not block or delete the fraudster's account before evidence is captured.
Screenshots should show timestamps and the full conversation where possible.

Things you can do right now — most cost nothing and protect your position.
